  • Everyday Wellness

With 10 billion CFU and a multi strain formula, we have included Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium in optimal amounts as they are the most extensive clinically researched ‘friendly bacteria’ believed to be important for overall gut health and everyday wellness1.

  • Digestive Support

Soluble fibre in the form of Acacia has been included as a prebiotic. As well as aiding digestion and combating issues such as constipation, prebiotics work synergistically with the live bacteria cultures (probiotics) as they can help feed and stimulate the growth of beneficial gut bacteria2.

  • Immune Health

Over 70% of the body’s immune cells are contained in the gastro-intestinal tract3. The health of one system is dependent on the other and a diverse gut microbiota can improve overall immune health. For this reason, we have included key strains from the Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium families, as these are known for their role in modulating the immune system4.

  • Brain Function and Mood Regulation

Feel Daily Biotic is formulated to enhance the health and diversity of gut bacteria. As research into intestinal physiology has shown, the gut is home to neurons and transmitters, especially serotonin (the feel good hormone) where 95% is produced in the gut5. Maintaining a healthy gut microbiome is significant in regulating mood and brain activity.

Our synbiotic combines 14 different strains of live cultures and soluble prebiotic dietary fibre to help nourish the gut and bring a host of benefits for gut and immune health as well as brain function and mood regulation.

Your microbiome is your second brain. Let’s activate it

The gut microbiome refers to the microorganisms living in your intestines. On average it is believed that each person has more than 1000 bacterial species in their digestive tract6. Gut health is essential when it comes to feeling the best version of you. It’s often known as our ‘second brain’, as it can impact on almost every aspect of our wellbeing, affecting not just nutrient absorption and digestion, but also our immune system, mood, skin health and body weight7.

Our intestinal flora can frequently become imbalanced and the number and diversity of good bacteria can diminish, which is known as ‘dysbiosis’8. Dysbiosis can bring about a host of unwanted side effects which impacts not only digestive health, but it can result in fatigue, brain fog and low mood8. A gut-supportive diet and supplementation with Feel Daily Biotic is important in helping to prevent Dysbiosis by improving bacteria quantity and quality.

Are probiotics all the same?

All of the strains within Feel Daily Biotic have been researched for safety and their ability to survive stomach acidity to reach the gut alive.

We have included a broad-spectrum blend of 14 bacteria strains for optimal digestive and wellness benefits. Below is an outline of just some of the benefits:

  • Lactobacillus rhamnosus

Believed to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort and protect the intestinal barrier23 by inhibiting some pathogens such as salmonella species24. It may even send signals to neurons to release GABA, a neurotransmitter that promotes calmness25.

  • Bifidobacterium lactis

This particular strain has significant fermentation activity and good stability. Studies have shown that consumption of B. Lactis can improve intestinal wellbeing17 and may help to decrease antibiotic-related diarrhea18, along with aiding those who are lactose intolerant17.

  • Bifidobacterium bifidum

One of the first bacteria to colonise a newborns GI tract. It plays a key role for intestinal health14 and immune response15. May reduce gastrointestinal symptoms associated with antibiotic treatment16.

  • Lactococcus lactis

Research shows that this strain can promote overall health of microbiota, by producing short-chain fatty acids, decreasing gut pH and aid enzyme activities26.

  • Lactobacillus gasseri

This is one of the strains naturally in human breast milk and vaginal flora27. It also works with other probiotics to promote balance in the gut microbiome and prevent yeast infections27. There is some evidence to suggest that it may aid weight and visceral fat loss28-29.

  • Lactobacillus acidophilus

The most commonly known species of probiotic bacteria, found in the digestive tract. Believed to support the overall health of the GI tract30 with reducing bloating, abdominal discomfort and diarrhoea31-32. It also inhibits H.pylori overgrowth33.

  • Lactobacillus salivarius

A type of bacteria prevalent in our saliva. It’s responsible for metabolising carbohydrates to produce organic acids such as lactic acid. It is vital for oral health34-35 and suppressing infection36.

  • Bifidobacterium infantis

It is an inherited microbe, often being passed down from mother to child during childbirth. It helps to cultivate an environment where other beneficial bacteria can grow, preventing the growth of harmful bacteria37 and combating abdominal discomfort38.

  • Lactobacillus helveticus

It has been used in clinical trials alongside antibiotics to combat antibiotic related diarrhoea39. It is also believed to stimulate immune response and prevent infections40-41.

  • Bifidobacterium longum

Research has shown how it can improve intestinal condition42, while helping to regulate bowel movements and prevent constipation43-44.

Why we used 14 strains?

Not all bacteria have the same properties, different strains and species offer unique benefits which means that they affect our health and exert their effects in different parts of the intestines. As research has shown, a higher level of diversity in gut bacteria is associated with greater health benefits for overall wellbeing8.

To date, there is still a lot of emerging evidence, but it seems apparent that live bacteria in the form of probiotics can provide a `number of benefits: aid nutrient absorption, digest food, strengthen intestinal inner lining, produce short-chain fatty acids, inhibit the growth of harmful microbes and regulate neurotransmitters7.

Prebiotics too. Why we included Acacia Fiber?

Acacia is classed as a soluble fibre, and so, during digestion it attracts and absorbs water to form a gel-like substance that promotes digestive health and is a good treatment for constipation45. However, when added as a prebiotic, research has shown that Acacia fiber stimulates the growth of healthy bifidobacteria and lactobacillus bacteria46. Compared to other prebiotic dietary fibres, Acacia is considered low FODMAP (Fermentable oligo-, di-, monosaccharides and polyols), meaning it is well tolerated and gentle on the stomach because of its slow fermentation rate; whereas many common prebiotics such as FOS (fructooligosaccharides) or inulin can cause digestive issues such as gas and bloating.

Who can benefit from Live Bacteria Cultures?

Generally speaking, we can all benefit from consuming more friendly bacteria in order to enhance gut flora and achieve improved overall health; the greater the diversity and quantity of bacteria- the better!

Live bacteria cultures (probiotics) are now considered a daily staple supplement due to the plethora of benefits they provide. They can aid digestive issues such as constipation, diarrhoea, bloating, gas and food intolerances. In addition, emerging research has shown promising results for enhancing skin health, autoimmune diseases47-48 along with mood and brain function15. Antibiotics are known to have an adverse effect on gut flora49 and so it is becoming more widely advised that a consistent intake of live bacteria cultures should be taken in conjunction with antibiotics to restore good gut bacteria50.

Gut-Immunity Axis

Gut-Immunity Axis

There is research to suggest how gut health influences immune health, as it can strengthen the intestinal barrier and activate protective T cells to ward off unfriendly bacteria and viruses51. Our research team at Feel have always recognised the significant link between gut health and our immunity, in particular, the vital role probiotics play in modulating the immune system.

That’s why our comprehensive multi-strain Feel Biotic, when taken on a daily basis, can help strengthen the intestinal barrier and provide optimal immune support.

The gut microbiome and the immune system have been interconnected from as early as birth, to help protect from any harmful pathogens52. As we age and go through life, the gut-immune connection continues to flourish and it is the gut microbiome that influences the strength and development of the immune system.

While microbes can be found all over the body, over 70% of bacteria are contained in the gastro-intestinal tract53. Simultaneously, a weakened immune system can impair gut function and cause further issues such as bloating, systemic inflammation and leaky gut54.

Gut-Brain Axis

95% of our serotonin supply is manufactured by gut bacteria, while other neurotransmitters such as dopamine, acetylcholine, and GABA are also made in our gut55. It is these key neurotransmitters that play an important role in our mood, anxiety, concentration and motivation55. Taking Feel Biotic can help nourish the gut and inturn optimise the function of neurotransmitters for brain activity and mood regulation.

As emerging evidence has shown, there is a strong connection between a well functioning gut and brain activity and it is now heavily researched as the ‘gut-brain axis’. It is the vagus nerve that carries signals to and from the digestive system and the brain to influence appetite-regulating hormones, digestive processes and even foods we crave56.
